Punch Drunk Love

Beth: Adam Sandler finally in a role that did not result in viewer pain and cringing! The acting and nuances were so funny that I excused the guy-gets-the-girl standard paltry storyline. I think they could have made more out of the guy with 7 sisters thing, though. It helps to have good actors, too: Emily Watson, Philip Seymour Hoffman... I stayed awake, but momma, who was in town, fell right asleep.

Jesse: Very good! I agree with Bets: the nebbish sisters subplot was a delectable diamondmine! But the film was strong enough to stand on its own, even though Emily Watson's character was a bit thin. A very enjoyable movie. 4/5
